The Workforce Housing Summit will take place on October 3, 2009, at the Prince George’s County Sports and Learning Center from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Center is located at 8001 Sheriff Road in Landover, MD. A map is provided for your convenience at the bottom of this page to obtain driving directions to the Summit. The Workforce Housing Summit is free to the public and this year’s focus is on new homeownership and preservation of homes (preventing foreclosure) for current homeowners. The event is sponsored in part by Omega Gold Development Group, Inc., (a HUD-approved housing counseling agency) and our non-profit and for-profit business partners. Additionally, the event has been endorsed by Governor Martin O'Malley, Senator Benjamin Cardin, and the County Council Chairperson, Marilyn Bland. The Workforce Housing Summit is designed to assist the "workforce" home buyer in navigating through the home buying process as well as providing options and tips for sustaining homeownership. With the new stimulus program and people gradually testing the housing market, this event could encourage many potential homeowners to decide to buy in the following 30 to 90 days and assist in stabilizing home values in Prince George’s County. Attendees that participate in any of the approved housing counseling sessions will earn up to 6 hours of housing counseling credits "FREE"! The classes are taught and conducted by HUD-approved housing counselors. We encourage you to register online, because space is limited. **NOTE: As of 7:00PM today, pre-registration has been closed. Please come to the event to register.** |
